The Counselling Cell organized a workshop for the teaching staff of N. G. Acharya & D. K. Marathe College of Arts, Science, and Commerce on Emotional Intelligence and Students’ Mental Health. It was conducted on two separate days for the Aided and PNG section faculties.
The workshop aimed to enhance teachers’ understanding of mental health by exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. A self-awareness activity and a myth vs. fact game was conducted. Counselors discussed students’ mental well-being, helping teachers recognize symptoms that may require intervention. Teachers were introduced to the referral system, enabling them to guide students to the Counselling Cell when needed. Additionally, various emotional first-aid tools were introduced and practiced.
The session was well received, with active participation from teachers and a positive feedback.
