Industrial Trips, Priceless Learning Lessons for Students

Industrial Visits are recognized as important moments in learning; a shared social experience that provides the opportunity for students to encounter and explore novel things in an authentic setting. There is always some trepidation before embarking on an industrial trip, the nerves start to kick in as the buses are being loaded up, cautiously students start to wonder whether they have packed enough warm clothes however the anxiety soon begins to fade away. The tour helps students explore open expanse of the terrain and dwell in the scenic beauty of nature.

This year Mass Media students went to Delhi – Jim Corbett National Park and Nainital where they visited printing press of Dainik Jagran, a leading newspaper. Students had the opportunity to learn the functioning of printing press. They learnt to live out off a suitcase, being on the move. They also had a taste of history with a panoramic view of Rajghat, Parliament house, India gate and the heritage site of the Qutub Minar while in Delhi. The bonfire on the last night at Nainital helped to bring the spirit of camaraderie and friendship to the fore.

The first year students of Management, Banking and Finance visited Silvassa where they studied the manufacturing of textiles and business model of the industry at Alok Textiles, the second year students had an enthralling experience at Jaipur and Ajmer, the students visited the famous City Palace, which includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings. In the evening they visited Chowkidhani where they enjoyed the local fair and the traditional Rajasthani food. Students visited Saras Dairy where they studied the nitty-gritty of entrepreneurship management.

The Final Year Management students visited Chandigarh and Amritsar where they enjoyed boat riding in Sukhna lake . Rock Garden was an uinque experience for students as it was made of all sorts of waste, defected and reusable material. They also enjoyed a blissful evening at the Golden temple. Students shared patriotic moments at Atari-Wagah Indo-Pak border. The Industrial Visit included a trip to Coca-Cola factory where students had interaction with business heads and also had a sneak peek into the functioning of the plant.

The best aspects of these excursions were developing lifelong bonds, learning effectively and gaining amazing memories.
